On the line where day becomes night a phenomenon occurs, a blue hue descends on the Red planet. The blue hue is created by fine dust particles swirling in the martian atmosphere. It's in this blue hue that our explorer, the brave soul that this statue represents, would have worked.
Dusk had become a potent time on Mars, since the first lab leaks occurred a phosphorescent glow appeared amongst the boulders, rocks and scree of this remote area. Glowing brightest at Dusk, it would have reminded our explorer of the plankton he would have seen on Earth. Glowing gently in the blue hue.
Surely it can't be some kind of bioluminescent organism that would be impossible, especially in such a hostile place as Mars. Our explorer would have had to wait for months before knowing. We couldn’t find any evidence of Lab equipment at the site where he worked.
The flowers found on the statue of this explorer are evident for the spread of a cornucopia of strange new flora. This particular species opens and closes its petals daily, opening in the moonlight and closing during the day. We know of its abilities to super convert carbon dioxide into Oxygen, it was bio engineered to help stabilize Mars' fragile atmosphere and like most of the strange new flora, spread after the colony collapsed.
The dusk explorer symbolises a transcendental moment, when light becomes dark.
